1999 January 6 @ BAR F1 launch - Adrian Reynard "why not want to win the first race, absolutely"

Did Adrian Reynard actually state BAR would win their first race at the team launch in 1999? Every F1 fans has ask this question since 1999. And the answer is NO. Did he wanted to? Yes. (Who dosen't want to win?) Did he say that the team will win his 1st race? No Even before, he never said that. In december 02, 1997 at the press conference in London announcing the formation of British American Racing by BAT (British American Tobacco), Reynard, and Craig Pollock, Reynard said: "We will aim to put the car on pole position and win the first race." Again he never said that they will win their first race, only that it was their 'aim' like any other teams. #f1 #retrof1 #onthisday
