Andrew Yang: If Trump Wins, It’s the Democrats’ Fault

A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll found that an astonishing 86 percent of Americans think Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term. Even the New York Times editorial board, a reliable Biden ally, acknowledged that his age is a legitimate concern. But most damaging to the president was the Justice Department report into his handling of classified documents. Special counsel Robert Hur determined Biden shouldn’t be criminally prosecuted, citing his poor memory and diminished faculties. Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang admires Joe Biden and thinks Donald Trump is a threat to American democracy. That’s why he’s out on the stump for outsider candidate Dean Phillips, the Minnesota congressman waging a quixotic campaign to replace Biden on the Democratic ticket. Yang says he can’t support Joe Biden for a simple reason: the president cannot beat the ex-president. Michael Moynihan sat down with Yang in New York City to talk about the 2024 election, the future of democracy, and what he calls the “coronation” of an uncommonly weak incumbent.
