Because of the weakness of their initial response, it took years before fighting the Vong in a conventional way was feasible, but before then there were many different strategies used to try to slow the advance and protect important assets. One such creative strategy was Operation Restbreak, organized by General Muun, who commanded the vital Bilbringi Shipyards. Withholding information on the true capabilities of the New Republic military was vital, and lacking the strength to defend against a full assault on Bilbringi, the General needed a way to make it seem a less attractive target. When Nom Anor, a Vong agent, requested an audience with Han and Leia at the shipyards, Muun put his plan into action. The many drydocks, which were constructing dozens of ships including two Star Destroyers, were shut entirely down, hiding any energy signatures and making it seem like there were far fewer, or that some were even abandoned. This made it seem like a fraction of the hardware was actually in use or being made for the future, giving the Vong a wildly inaccurate idea of the importance of the shipyards. While the shipyards were still taken later on in the war, and became one of the targets of the joint Operation trinity to reclaim them with Imperial help, it likely still made an impact on how long the shipyards were able to remain operational, which was crucial in a war where every ship counted and the survival of the galaxy was at stake.
