Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the Élysée Palace on Sunday to meet French President Macron and U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump for talks ahead of the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Macron did not greet Zelenskyy on the palace steps. Instead, the Ukrainian leader was escorted inside for a brief trilateral photo opportunity. Before meeting with Zelenskyy for talks expected to focus on war in Ukraine, Macron thanked Trump for the solidarity he had shown during his first presidency when the fire broke out. Meanwhile, Trump praised the strong relationship between the two countries, saying they had achieved "a lot of success, really great success working together on defense and offense too." All three leaders will join other heads of state for the reponing ceremony for Notre Dame later on Saturday. During the ceremony, the Archbishop will lead the symbolic rite of opening the cathedral doors by striking them with his crozier. This will be followed by the grand awakening of the cathedral’s organ, the singing of sacred hymns, and the final blessing to mark the official reopening of Notre Dame.
