1 Peter 3–5 | Relationships, Suffering, Gifts, and Humble Leadership

In this episode of By Grace Through Faith, we finish our study of 1 Peter by walking through chapters 3–5 and exploring what it looks like to live faithfully in relationships, endure suffering, and lead with humility. We begin with Peter’s instructions for marriage, calling husbands and wives to reflect Christ through honor, understanding, and love. We then look at the broader call for believers to live in harmony, showing compassion, humility, and responding to insult with blessing instead of retaliation. We also explore what it means to suffer for doing good, being ready to explain our hope with gentleness and respect, and how Christ’s suffering, victory, and the picture of baptism shape our new life. In chapter 4, we’re challenged to turn from worldly desires and live for God’s will—staying disciplined in prayer, loving deeply, practicing hospitality, and using our spiritual gifts to serve others. Finally, in chapter 5, we look at humble leadership, learning what it means to shepherd well, cast our cares on God, resist the devil, and stand firm in His grace. These chapters remind us that faith is lived out through how we love, how we endure, and how we lead. ⏱ Episode Breakdown 00:00 Faithful Living Preview 01:03 Welcome and Prayer 01:40 Marriage Roles and Honor 04:23 Harmony and Holy Speech 06:41 Suffering for Doing Good 08:27 Christ Suffered and Baptism 10:31 Living for God’s Will 13:24 Gifts Hospitality and Prayer 15:09 Rejoicing in Fiery Trials 18:09 Humble Church Leadership 21:05 Resist the Devil Stand Firm 26:42 Key Takeaways and Next Steps
