How Russian obliteration of Western weapons is forcing U.S to send more military aid to Ukraine

As Russia bombards US supplied weapons in Ukraine's battlefield, the Biden administration has announces $1 billion in new arms aid to Kyiv. The latest batch of weaponry was approved by Joe Biden and it will be the 18th such package for Ukraine since the war began in February. The fresh package comes just days after Russia destroyed arms depot in Ukraine's Donetsk and even seized some foreign supplied weapons. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly touted the effectiveness of the US-made HIMARS system, calling it a “game-changer” on the battlefield. However, the Russian Defence Ministry claims to have destroyed 6 of the 16 HIMARS sent to Ukraine. Several ammunition stockpiles have also been bombarded by the Russian troops.
