Onboard 2017 Proterra Catalyst BE40 #0016 on the B32

Taken 1/9/18 along the Pulaski Bridge. Following Governor Cuomo's press release, the new MTA electric buses started revenue service today! These buses will be here for 3 years, after which more buses might be ordered. #0011-0015 are New Flyer XE40s, which are currently at the Michael J. Quill depot in Manhattan and will be running on the M42 and M50 for the first 18 months of the 3 year lease. #0016-0021 are Proterra Catalyst BE40s, which are running at the Grand Avenue depot in Brooklyn and will be running on the B32 and B39 for the first 18 months. After 18 months, the buses will switch depots, so the XE40s will go to Grand Avenue and the BE40s will go to MJQ.
