Chhattisgarh Police has achieved a major success. Police have solved the sensational petrol pump robbery case in the Ratanpur police station area of Bilaspur district. On January 11, 2026, three young men arrived at the BB Petrol Pump on a Pulsar motorcycle, filled petrol worth ₹1,000, and upon payment, robbed approximately ₹15,000 by brandishing a country-made pistol. The accused fled the scene after the crime. Given the seriousness of the incident, a joint team of the ACCU Bilaspur and Ratanpur police was formed on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Bilaspur, Rajneesh Singh. The police team examined footage from over 200 CCTV cameras installed at the scene and nearby. Based on technical evidence and information from an informant, three accused—Ved Prakash Vaishnav, Abhishek Prajapati, and Kapil Patel—were arrested in a cordon and search operation near Beltara. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing robberies at petrol pumps in Ratanpur, Chaitma, and Pali (Korba district), and at a property dealer. Police recovered ✔️ A country-made pistol and cartridges ✔️ A sharp knife ✔️ Two stolen motorcycles ✔️ Two and a half thousand rupees in cash ✔️ Three mobile phones from the accused's possession. All three accused have robbery cases registered against them in various police stations.
