I originally wrote this one in a picky style, but then changed it to a 3/4 strummy, which, let's be honest, I find easier :-) Hope you like it. I busked it for the first time today, and at least one other person likes it :-) ‘The Mists Of The Past’ by Tracey Cracknell She was a really nice lady But her decisions were bad Her love she had squandered On many a cad Poor woman was convinced she was cursed So when somebody liked her she ran away first Yeah when somebody liked her she ran away first “It’s self-preservation” the mirror she told But the lack of elation was making her old Though her looks they were fading Her soul she would keep And when she was ready she’d make the leap Yeah when she was ready then she’d make the leap Until that sweet moment she’d stay on her own Nobody could hurt her if she was alone Bad memories faded, they faded at last Until they were lost in the mists of the past And she could look forward with no further pain And find a new love and be happy again
