Without You [A Jemi One Shot] Part 2 Demi's POV: I trailed my fingers on his facial features feeling his cold skin. I rubbed his arm a little trying to keep him warm 'im fine demz' he whispered 'do you want some extra blankets, want me to bring you a hot water bottle or anything?' i quickly got up but he grabbed my hand and made me sit on his lap. It was quiet for a minute before he spoke 'i just want you in my arms baby'. He rubbed his nose against my neck as his breath hit it every few seconds. I wrapped my arms around his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist as he stroked my back. He murmured 'i love you's' in my ear every minute or so. There was nothing but silence and our breathes. I pulled away to find him laying his head back on the head board. I guess he fell asleep. I began to take his glasses off but he moved his head away as soon as i touched them. 'd-don't' his voice cracked. 'why not Joe? What's happening baby?' i whispered against his face. I guess he was looking straight at me but i couldn't really tell because of the dark sunglasses he wore. 'why don't you take them off? mm. . . and then we can go to sleep' He only shook his head. 'the light will hurt my eyes. They're very sensitive for some reason' he grinned 'probably from looking at your beauty too much' I tried to smile but i couldn't. I held onto his hand tight and rubbed my thumb on the back of it. 'Joe? Im really scared' He kissed my hand, and then continued to kiss my forehead, nose and chin. He began to kiss along my jaw line as my breath quickened. 'don't be scared beautiful, there's nothing to be scared of'. He gently laid me back before he kissed down my neck. 'i love you' he whispered There it was again. Those three words that meant so much now scared me. He jumped up quickly before turning off the lights and closing the curtains. I couldn't see anything, just the outline of his gorgeous body. He finally took the sunglasses off and put them to a side. I held his face close to mine trying to see his eyes but i couldn't see anything. I couldn't see the way they would shine with excitement or the way they would turn dark with lust. Or that chocolate colour when they would show love. He kissed me gently before taking his clothes off. within minutes we were making love. It was so gentle and loving. He trailed kisses along my neck again. I felt some moisture but i couldn't tell if it was sweat or tears. I held his face 'are you okay Joe? Are you crying?' I leaned my arm down to turn on the light before he stopped me 'im fine babygirl. I love you' with that he continued making passionate love to me. his body felt weaker than usual and his breath was shaky. After an hour he stopped and put his sunglasses back on before lying next to me. i was exhausted. 'baby?' he said as he stroked my hair 'hmm' i was so exhausted. My eyes were just threatening to drop 'wana have a bet' he laughed I looked up at him 'bet?' He nodded before he repositioned himself and cradled me in his arms. 'yup' My eyebrow raised as i looked at him 'okay shoot' I heard his laugh again. I smiled hearing it. it was refreshing from his broken smiles and his fake laughs 'i bet you can't live a day without me' 'i bet you're right' i giggled He groaned a little 'demiiiii' he whined. He sounded like the regular Joe i fell inlove with. I laughed 'what?' i asked 'it's a bet, you have to accept this challenge im going to ask you to do' I bit my lip and thought about it. 'fine what is it?' 'i already told you' i could tell he was grinning 'i challenge you to live one whole day without me. no communicating in any way' 'Joe, what's the point of that?!' 'come-on, that way we can really see how much we love each other and how strong we are. I need to know if you can live a day without me. if you do manage it, i will love you forever'. He kissed me again but this time it was stronger, as if he was trying to show all of his love in this one kiss. Author's POV Demi did the challenge as Joe requested. She didn't call him, text him or see him for a whole day, without knowing Joe only had 24 hours to live because he was suffering from cancer. There were only a few minutes to go and Demi drove to Joe's house. There was still one minute left as she ran down the street. She screamed his name as she entered the house but was greeted by his family. Tears flooded her face as she saw his body in a coffin. She fell next to him crying hysterically. She kept calling his name over and over again until she spotted a note beside the coffin. She picked it up with shaky hands and read it You did it baby. U passed. Now can you do it every day?
