Mamata Banerjee, while urging the Prime Minister not to go ahead with the changes, wrote that it could create a fear of psychosis among the officers and also impact their performance. She also stressed that the proposed change to the rules is a threat to the federal polity and could damage the centre and state's ties. Mamata Banerjee also warned of great movements in case the Centre does not agree to reconsider the decision.
