Arunachalam or "Annamalai" is located in the state of Tamil Nadu. Arunachalam is one of the five linga temples. It is a symbol of the fire god among the five linga temples in South India.[1] Arunachalam means aruna - red, achalam - hill. The meaning is red hill. A-runa means the one who removes sins. In Tamil, it is called "Thiruvannamalai". Thiru means Sri, Annamalai means a large hill. It is a very great pilgrimage site. It is a place where remembrance alone gives salvation. Devotees believe that it is better than Kashi, Chidambaram and Thiruvarur. Arunachalam is a place praised in the Vedas and Puranas. The Puranas state that the Arunachaleswara temple was built by Vishwakarma at the behest of Shiva, and a city called Aruna was built around it. The Skanda Purana states that the entire ritual to be performed there was arranged by Gautama Maharishi Shivajna. Since the Puranas say that this hill is Shiva's, this hill is given more importance than the Arunachaleswara Temple to the east of this hill. It is said to be a Jyotirlinga. Since it is a Tejolinga, it is called Agni Kshetra. Main deity: Arunachaleswara Swamy (Fire Linga among the five lingas) (Locally-Annamalaiyar) (Shiva) Main deity: Apitha Kuchalambika Ammavaru (Locally - Unnamalai Amman) (Uma Devi Parvati) Pushkarini: Agni Tirtha, Brahma Tirtha Main_Festivals: Kartika Deepam Since this Arunachal is the Jyotirlanga form of the Supreme Lord, devotees believe that circumambulating it is actually circumambulating Shiva. Ramana Maharshi has repeatedly proclaimed its importance, and it is said by the greats that those who circumambulate on foot, remembering Shiva, will attain great merit. That is why many people circumambulate the mountain at all times. Devotees believe that the effect of the Mahashadhi on the mountain will heal the body, the remembrance of Shiva will heal the mind, and the spiritual life will be healed by the grace of Shiva. Giri Pradakshan is mostly done on the tarred road. In recent times, a footpath has also been laid on the side of the road to facilitate Giri Pradakshan. Since most people find it difficult to withstand the heat of the morning sun, they do it at night or in the early morning. After going 2 km to Ramanashram, turn right and you will come to the Vinayaka temple in the middle of the road. If you look at the hill from there, it looks like Nandi. The total Giri Pradakshina is 14 km. In that, we should visit all 8 lingas along the way. Arunachalam Giri Pradakshina gives great results. Precautions to be taken while circumambulating the mountain. Giri Pradakshan should be done without shoes. Do not carry anything heavy (bags are one of them). The Giri Pradakshan is 14 km long. It is very difficult to do Giri Pradakshan in the morning. It is better to finish by 9 am. Giri Pradakshan is mostly done on a full moon day. After starting the Arunagiri Pradakshina, one should not make any wishes and continue the Pradakshina without any desire. Do not forget to take small snacks. In Giri Pradakshan, it is said "Ner (opposite) Shiva temple" which means the Shiva temple opposite the peak. Next to Nithyananda Swami Ashram, there is a Bhakta Kannappa temple. Giri Pradakshan is done every day. While doing the Arunagiri Pradakshina, one should not wear anything like a hat on the head. During the Arunachala Giri Pradakshina, it is a must to visit the Annamalai Temple. Help as much as you can during Giri Pradakshina. Regardless of how quickly you complete Giri Pradakshina, go slowly like a pregnant woman chanting the name of Arunachala. During Giri Pradakshina, Vibhuti is given as prasadam at every temple, so definitely take it. If you can, donate food to even a few people during the Pradakshina. It will yield extraordinary results. Before starting Giri Pradakshina in Arunachalam, definitely light a lamp in front of the Rajagopuram and mentally pray, "Whatever Swami gives me, I will be happy with," and then set off. Continue chanting the name of Shiva throughout the Giri Pradakshina. Carry some small change with you during Giri Pradakshina. There will be many saints in that Pradakshina, so help them as much as you can. The entire Giri Pradakshina is on a tarred road, so if possible, complete it by 10 am. Start after 4 pm. During Giri Pradakshina, you must visit Ramana Maharshi Ashram. Many people have said from experience that meditating in the meditation hall of the ashram there gives you special mental happiness. For children, unmarried people tie a rope to a tree next to the Durvasa Maharshi temple during Giri Pradakshina (rope is sold there). It gives very good results. While doing Giri Pradakshina, bow down to the mountain as many times as possible and keep remembering Om Arunachala Shiva. Giri Pradakshina should be done only on our left side. Because on the right side, gods and siddhis circumambulate the mountain in an invisible form. So we should not go in front of them. Hotel Aalayam Tiruvannamalai Eesaniya Lingam Street, T...
