Magnolia Green Jumping Spider (L. viridis) retina movements (side view)

You can easily see the anterior median eye retina movements in this side view of a subadult male magnolia green jumping spider (Lyssomanes viridis). They have excellent vision, but this species cannot jump as far as other jumping spider species, so they are primarily ambush hunters. You can tell this is a male by the shape of his pedipalps.
