WW2 Kamikaze Attack Ceremony on the USS Kidd

We took a trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to visit the USS Kidd Destroyer on display in the Mississippi River. The experience is one we will never forget. We went to just tour the ship and learn about the history. By coinciendence, we happened to be visiting the ship on the anniversary date it was attacked in World War II. They had a ceremony that started at the exact time the Kamikaze pilot flew his plane into the side of the ship killing 38 people on board and injuring 55 others. There were even a few remaining survivors from that day at the ceremony. It was emotional and intense to be there for that. What an amazing experience it was!
