DAYTON-- A woman is recovering in the hospital after she slams into a retaining wall on the highway. It happened on I-75 just after midnight around Edwin C. Moses Police says the woman lost control of her vehicle and swerved off of the road hitting the retaining wall. Another driver witnessed the crash and attempted to help the unconscious woman until paramedics arrived. Right now, police are not sure what caused the accident and it does not appear to be speeding. However, driving in a construction zone does increase the risk of an accident. This morning, police are reminding drivers to stay alert and drive the posted work-zone speed limit. The woman remain in the hospital with serious injuries.Previous Coverage: DAYTON-- A serious crash on I-75 is under investigation. A woman somehow lost control of her car and went off the road and slammed into the median just after midnight. A witness sprang into action. Ryan Huff says he saw the crash and pulled his car over, then ran up to the injured woman's car. He saw her lying on in the car unconscious, so he says he pulled out his pocket knife and busted the glass to help free her. Police say the woman's injuries are considered serious. Traffic along I-75 was diverted while crews cleaned up the scene near the Edwin C. Moses ramp. Right now, it does not appear the woman was speeding. Police are also working to see if drugs or alcohol played a role.
