Heat advisory for NY, NJ on hot, humid Wednesday

High pressure remains in control of the weather for the region bringing another heat wave to parts of the tri-state. A heat advisory is in effect beginning at noon Wednesday for New York City, portions of Long Island, the lower Hudson Valley and Northeast New Jersey. We can expect mostly sunny skies Wednesday afternoon with a chance of a scattered shower or thunderstorm later in the day. The high temperature will be 93 in the city, mid 90s in the suburbs. The temperature will combine with the humidity to make it feel like the upper 90s. The heat continues on Thursday under partly cloudy skies with a chance of a scattered thunderstorm. The high will be in the mid-90s once again with heat indices near 100 degrees.
