In 1972, Leopold Stokowski celebrated his 90th birthday with a concert in which he conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. The programme chosen was an exact repeat of his debut concert with the LSO 60 years earlier and it sold out on the first day of booking. In fact, the demand for tickets was so great that the concert was repeated the following evening at the Royal Albert Hall. For that repeat concert, Stokowski played several encores, including his charming arrangement of the Schubert piano piece heard here - the 'Moment Musical' Opus 94, No.3. It is featured in a 23-CD 'Decca' boxed set containing all of Stokowski's "Phase-4 Stereo" recordings.
