Full speech: Pete Buttigieg announces 2020 Presidential run

The so-called “Millennial Mayor,” 37 year-old Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, announces his candidacy for the Democratic Party 2020 presidential nomination in a speech at a former Studebaker auto plant in South Bend on April 14, 2019. Buttigieg, the first openly gay Democratic presidential candidate, is a former Naval Intelligence Officer who was deployed to Afghanistan in 2014. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Oxford University having attended Pembroke College, Oxford, on a Rhodes Scholarship. After earning his Oxford degree, he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company from 2007 through 2010. He was first elected Mayor in 2011.
