The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its 29-day nationwide strike following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government. The decision came after deliberations at an Extraordinary National Executive Council meeting, confirmed by NARD Secretary-General, Dr. Shuaibu Ibrahim, via his official X handle. The suspension was based on seven key conditions, including: Reinstatement of the Lokoja doctors Release of the professional allowance table Payment of promotion and salary arrears in select hospitals Implementation of Part I exam upgrades and specialist allowances Resolution of membership certificate issues The industrial action had disrupted health services nationwide, affecting over 11,000 resident doctors across 91 teaching hospitals who protested poor working conditions and unpaid allowances. Healthcare services are now resuming across Nigeria, bringing relief to patients and families nationwide. ✅ 7 Strategic Hashtags #NARDStrikeUpdate #ResidentDoctorsNigeria #HealthcareNigeria #StrikeSuspension #MedicalNews #FederalGovernmentMoU #HealthServicesResumed Live News Broadcast from the Nigerian Television Authority Abuja, Nigeria For more updates from NTA, visit: Website: http://www.nta.ng/ Twitter: / ntanewsnow Facebook: / ntanetworknews Email: [email protected] To license this and other NTA content, please email: [email protected], [email protected] Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for updates on live streams!
