N-PAP vs O-PAP AK-47: Zastava M70 Comparison

Comparing the Serbian Zastava N-PAP AK and O-PAP M70 AK-47 rifles in 7.62x39, imported by Century Arms (npap vs opap). The extra weight of the O-PAP would be the major difference between the two. The extra weight coming from the use of the RPK style receiver with 1.5mm thick walls and bulged front trunnion. The O-PAP has limited options for customization as the thicker walled receiver and Yugo style attachments for the upper and lower handguards are different compared to a standard AKM, but many options are becoming more readily available as the popularity of this rifle increases. They also offer an underfolder N-PAP, designated the N-PAP DF. I don't have any personal experience with the underfolder, but have read many good things about it. Either way, Zastava M70 style rifles and pistols are excellent choices for both new and experienced shooters!
