Car plunges into river off Zuari bridge, vehicle and 4 bodies retrieved in rescue operation
An SUV carrying around four people fell into the Zuari river from the bridge in the wee hours of Thursday, after breaching the bridge railings, police said. The Indian Coast Guard, Navy, fire and emergency services and Goa police personnel launched an operation to trace the vehicle and its occupants following the accident which took place at around 1.10 am. By Thursday 1.30pm the vehicle was located in the water and the vehicle and bodies of the 4 occupants were retrieved.
