Mt Fuji Mountain Hut — Honest Experience from a Beginner 51-Year-Old Hiker

Last summer, I climbed Mt. Fuji with my son and stayed overnight in a mountain hut. In this video, I share my honest experience staying at a Mt. Fuji mountain hut as a 51-year-old beginner hiker. We started from the 5th Station and stayed at a 7th Station hut because we arrived in the afternoon after flying in from Hiroshima. Instead of hiking in the dark to see the summit sunrise, we chose to watch the sunrise from the hut — and that choice worked best for us. In this video, I talk about: What a Mt. Fuji mountain hut is really like Private room experience (with window & sunrise view) Dinner options (including vegetarian) English explanation videos and signs Temperature, sleeping bags, and comfort Ladder access and room height (important for tall people) Who this experience is best for We stayed at Kamaiwakan, which offers different room types depending on comfort and accessibility. If you’re a beginner hiker, arriving later in the day, or not comfortable hiking in the dark, I hope this video helps you plan your Mt. Fuji climb more confidently.
