About Video : CHICHAM BRIDGE (ASIS'S HIGHEST SUSPENSION BRIDGE) Same day we covered various places like : Key Gompa , Kibber Village , Hikkim & Langza ,which we will cover in next videos. ****************************** About Chicham Bridge : Located in the Himalaya mountains in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, the Chicham Bridge is said to be the World's highest bridge from sea level at 13596 ft. It’s one of the most spectacular bridges in the world. The bridge connects the two villages named Chicham and Kibber. Look down this one and you will find yourself gaping below, at a 1000 ft deep gorge! The gorge below is known by the name of Samba Lamba Nallah; the making of this bridge cuts down the journey from Kibber to Losar by 40 km. Before this bridge the villagers of Chicham used a dangerous ropeway to cross this section. This brought relief to these villages. The new bridge was under construction for 14 years. This suspension bridge was open for vehicles on 15th Aug 2017. It connects Kibber village to Chicham village. There are two ways that you can reach Chicham Village and the bridge. The first is from Kaza via Kibber and the second road bifurcates from the highway near Kiato. Why is Chicham bridge famous? Located at a height of around 4500 meters above sea level in the Himalayan mountain ranges, the Chicham Bridge is said to be the world's highest suspension bridge and is one of the most spectacular bridges of the world.
