#shorts video showing people of all ages having fun dancing the Dashing White Sergeant, a Scottish Country dance, held during the 2025 Pitlochry New Year Street Party on Atholl Road. This annual event on New Year’s Day is held outside Fishers Hotel in Pitlochry, with compere Eddie Rose, displays by The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band and music from Andrew Knight & his Scottish Country Dance Band. The dashing white sergeant is a traditional Scottish dance typically performed at ceilidhs, weddings and parties. Based on the old Scottish dance formations of ‘setting’ and ‘reeling’, dancers form a group of three, facing another group, all within a large circle around the room.
