Probably not. The reason: it's a pure support option and most people don't take those. However, if YOU personally don't mind playing support, AV and the recently buffed Improved Stun mod work great in tandem with each other to hold swarms back and keep them grouped up for friendly AoE attacks. You'll want to build it for shortened response times. That means taking Improved Motor on T1 so that you can quickly gain accuracy once you begin firing or returning to firing after an overheat. This will also improve your DPS, slightly. You won't need accuracy, you'll be fighting in close range and you definitely won't need faster cooling. Tier 4 Lighter Barrel Assembly for faster spinups is also extremely handy for this. You'll never get caught without having a reliable means to defend at hand. Grab the ammo on T2. This allows you to continually hold the trigger between targets while reducing the value of wasted ammunition. When things go crazy, you'll want to lay suppressive fire instead of going kill to kill. For this, you'll also want Improved Stun on T3. This really boosts the suppression effect when blanketing enemy ranks with bullets. That's not all you should consider though. AV setups are dangerous. An I'll timed vent can get you mobbed, lead to quick HP drops and submit you to additional 'chip' damage. So I recommend taking things to keep you healthy. Healing perks and extra HP on your armor. Resupplier guarantees a full heal and Vampire mitigates chip damage, especially with +1 Pickaxe Power Attack Radius. Throw Berzerker on top for more on-demand healing potential. In the end, I probably wouldn't recommend AV over other T5 perks as a baseline unless you're really into playing support roles or just want to leave some kills for the greenbeards. Though it can be an especially powerful support mod in combination with the Burning Hell overclocks increased heat generation. If there were anything I'd really change about the mod at this point, it's just the Heat Gauge on the weapon slowing down to a crawl before overheating, making it more difficult than it need be to time a good venting. The last thing an unpopular mod needs is timing issues. Make the timing more user friendly and it'll probably at least get chosen a bit more.
