Prior to the game, Head Coach John Thompson III and the athletics department recognized six seniors on the team, highlighted by Tyler Adams (Brandon, Miss./Brandon), who last played as a freshman in 2011-12 and had his career sidelined by a heart ailment. Thompson and the GU Compliance Department requested a waiver from the NCAA to allow him to appear briefly in the game and Adams, who has been on the bench for every game the last three years, started on Saturday.
