10 Tips for Dealing with Parrots who hate their harness | Parrot Harness Training

PLEASE NOTE: Since I created this video, I realised that I was still off track, and in fact, I have regressed further. I am seeking more professional advice now to assist me and I will be also sharing future videos to showcase my progress. Harness Trouble-Shooting - 10 Tips for parrots who hate their harness. What do you do when your parrot, who was fine with the harness, suddenly cracks up and won’t play the game? Perseverance, slowing down, patience, “Hurry up and Wait”, and “win the dominance game” are all little pieces to the puzzle that will hopefully help you to approach dealing with your parrot who suddenly decided they didn’t want the harness anymore. First consideration is to find out “what caused” the harness-angst. It could be a simple thing or something more complex. Whatever the reason, your bird needs to relearn to trust the harness and more importantly to trust you when dealing with the harness. Also please note that every bird has a different personality and this method just may not work for your birds personality. Know your bird! And tweak methods to suit him/her. I’m not an expert at all - but I’ve found these tips helped me with George when he suddenly became Harness-Hating. I believe I still have a lot to learn and I am happy to share as I learn more.
