Suella Braverman is gone, but did she quit or was she sacked?

Largely the answer to Suella Braverman's demise as per the title is who cares, she's gone, but how chaotic was it? Oh my Jesus Christ, as much as I’d like to say it was the tofu what done it, no matter what the actual reason, Suella Braverman, Suella de Vil if you will, has gone, her fascist God complex shattered, please mind your step so you don’t step on the pieces. That the Home Secretary either being sacked or resigning from the government turned out to not even be the biggest news story of the day, just goes to show how utterly, mind-numbingly bad things have got under the alleged leadership – it’s just a rumour now mind you that she’s actually in charge anymore - of Liz Truss. Now the story goes that following a day of bean curd bashing, Braverman, that dreamer of deportation flights, had had a 90 minute slanging match with Truss over migration. Truss want’s to relax migration rules so as to get people back into those roles left vacant by the Brexit exodus and start to get essential services, such as our NHS back on it’s feet and hopefully end the rot of vegetables in our fields, that kind of thing. She’d been to meet the moderate wing of her party – as if there’s any such thing really, it’s like describing a vampire as mildly iron deficient, but this group, the One Nation Group of Tories, are the sort to have put this idea in her head and she’ll also have seen this as a possible route to party unity. She failed, because Braverman is as hard right as you can get, wants migration basically ended, a staunch Brexiteer who won’t accept it has caused economic damage to the UK and certainly doesn’t believe more migration is the answer when she has planes to Rwanda she wants to fill. The ERG are, well, Krishnan Guru-Murthy said it best I think to another ERG-er Steve Baker: You spoke for a nation Krish. It needs to be remembered that Liz Truss was the ERG candidate going into that final round of the Tory leadership campaign against Rishi Sunak, so unity, well, that blew up royally but was Braverman sacked or did she quit? If you believe her resignation letter, usually a puff piece to the PM, she resigned, willingly becoming the shortest tenured Home Secretary in 188 years. If you think an email sent erroneously would trigger such a move, you’ve not been watching these shysters for long enough, they’ve done far worse – shredding Windrush arrival cards didn’t prompt Theresa May to quit for example – referring to a pledge breaking, wrong directioned, commitment busting, manifesto breaching government under Liz Truss. Now the job’s been filled by a man who’s had more aliases than he’s had hot dinners, honest Grant Shapps.
