HOW TO CHECK CYLINDER HEAD AND ENGINE BLOCK DECK WARPAGE (EASY DIY)

Automotive technician since 1991 I show a quick and easy way to check your cylinder head and block deck for Warpage (gaps) using a straight edge and feeler gauge. You can also use a flash light behind and under the straight edge to see gaps ( but I highly recommend using a feeler gauge for more accuracy) Always check your repair manual for the specs on how much Warpage is acceptable (minimum & maximum tolerances). I used the 0.002 of an inch feeler gauge on this vehicle some spots went to 0.003 but it is within specs. Always clean the surface from any left over gasket material VERY WELL with a razor blade and rag before performing your inspection. GO GET IT! GOD BLESS.
