Tropical Storm Marco was barely hanging on to that status Monday afternoon while Laura was being watched closely as a possible major hurricane threat. All tropical storm warnings and surge warnings have been canceled as of Monday afternoon associated with Marco. While we're finished with threats from Marco, new watches and warnings could be issued soon ahead of Tropical Storm Laura. Tropical Storm Marco is weakening and falling apart as it approaches Louisiana for an expected landfall Monday evening near the mouth of the river. Marco could still bring breezy winds, higher than normal tides and some rain mainly Monday night into Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Laura is forecast to move along Cuba's southern coast during the day before entering the Gulf of Mexico and heading toward the same stretch of U.S. coast later in the week, most likely as a hurricane.
