Barney has always been the group's wildcard and on the first few seasons he has always been a mystery. But as the show progressed, we also got to witness his emotional side and how he actually has a lot of baggage since his messy childhood. The moment he knew about his daughter and that scene in the maternity ward is i think the "Peak Serious Barney" in the show.
