A historical look at how the BOT-ERA project was funded and how Innoveo supported the Royal Botanic Garden of Jordan's application for the call. The support provided by Innoveo during the project is presented including such activities as project management support, dissemination and promotion, support in the management of the evaluation and strategy development of the Royal Botanic Garden, and providing training to the stakeholders and invited participants. Finally, future EU funding opportunities are discussed, including ideas on how Jordanian research and conservation organizations may proceed with regard to potential research projects. Presentation by Laurent Druitti, representing BOT-ERA project partner Innoveo Consulting of Luxembourg, at the International Conference on the Conservation and Use of Socio-Economically Important Wild Plants in the Fertile Crescent held in Amman on April 8-9, 2014. Mr. Laurent Driutti has a Master of Business Management degree and is Managing Director of Innoveo Consulting S.r.l., one of the partners in the BOT-ERA project. His experience in the private sector includes: management of an SME involved in technical textiles for the automotive industry; management of a subsidiary of a European leader in the transport and logistics field; management of Production, R&D and Innovation and Purchasing for a luxury eyewear company; and LBO as the sole investor of a volume trading company in fasteners which he still currently leads. Mr. Driutti's experience in EU projects includes, among others: management of a Tacis project that enabled Ukrainian aerospace organisations to join three FP6 aeronautics projects attracting over 400,000 Euros of funding; implementation of the European Space Incubator for the European Space Agency (ESA) and the related ESINET network fund in Noordwijk, Netherlands; management of the TACIS projects "Space Technology Exploitation in Ukraine" and "Commercialisation of Ukrainian Space Technologies and Regulatory Recommendations on Intellectual Property Rights" supporting Ukrainian organizations to implement technology transfer; writing of an EC Twinning Fiche on Occupational Safety and Health for the Ministry of Labour of Azerbaijan; and development of financial schemes and infrastructure to support innovation in Ukraine and alternative methods of funding technology incubators.
