Since the launch of the LEGO Super Mario line, Mario characters have appeared as larger interactive figures rather than traditional LEGO minifigures. This new announcement means fans may finally get true minifigure-style sets based on the Super Mario universe. With LEGO already producing video game sets for Sonic and The Legend of Zelda, this could open the door for many more Nintendo-themed builds in minifigure scale.
