UNC-Chapel Hill doctoral student accused of killing professor denied bond

Tailei Qi, a 34-year-old doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, made his first court appearance Tuesday in connection with the deadly shooting of a professor on campus Monday. Qi was arrested about two miles north of campus a little after 2:30 p.m. He was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm on school grounds.
