Kenya will on Friday launch a pilot test for a malaria vaccine in one of the high-risk areas of the country. In April this year, Malawi and Ghana began the trials which will see each country vaccinate 360 000 children per year, according to the World Health organisation (WHO). The vaccine - known as RTS,S - is the first malaria vaccine to have successfully completed the phase three clinical trial.
