This is video #062 in my Final Fantasy IV playthrough. The party begins their journey through the Sealed Cave in the far southwest of the Underground. The first floor is easy enough; just open the door with Luca's Necklace. B1F is where the fun begins. This is where the party has their first run-ins with TrapDoors. These have got to be the most annoying enemies in the game. They will target an ally and then kill that ally. They have 6,000 HP, and when they get down to about 1,000 HP, they will transform into another foe, such as a Manticore. My strategy is to shave off 1,000 - 2,000 HP with Edge, Cecil, or Kain and then destroy the door with Rydia's Ice3 spell. Don't attack the door with another character while Rydia is charging up her spell, or the door may transform. Also, when the door targets a character, I like to preemptively use a Life item or Rosa's Life1 spell on that character, especially if it is Rydia or Rosa. Behind door number 1 on B1F, chests contain an Ether1 and a Kotetsu. If you haven't been through the Cave of Summons and the Sylvan Cave, you may want to put the Kotetsu on Edge. Right away. Back in the main part of B1F, there is a Bestiary. Behind door number 2, there is a chamber containing a HiPotion and an Ether1. There are two TrapDoors to kill for experience, but they don't lead anywhere. The southeast door leads down to B2F. Down on B2F, there is a StarVeil and a Life item. There are also six--count 'em, six--TrapDoors along the northern wall. Nothing behind door number 1. Behind door number 2, the party can pick up the Light sword for Cecil. If you don't have the Defense sword from the Cave of Summons, you need this. Behind door number 3, treasures include a Fuma, an Elixir, and another StarVeil. Thank you for watching!
