Suspected drunk driver hits SAPD patrol car

SAN ANTONIO - A police officer is recovering after his patrol car was hit by an alleged drunk driver. Authorities say Officer Daniel Jones was at the scene of an accident on I-35 at Randolph Boulevard when another driver hit his patrol car from behind. The impact flipped the car and the driver had to be cut out by emergency crews. Officer Jones suffered a minor injury to his head. Both he and the driver of the car that hit him were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay. That driver faces possible charges of DWI.
