City 3 - New Harmony

City 3 - New Harmony

A 2.5 minute first-person walk through of a 17th / 19th century Utopian city. The cities are Christianopolis (Andreae, 1619/1999), Campanella’s (1602) City of the Sun (More, 1968), New Harmony (Owen, 1817), and Victoria (Buckingham, 1849/2011). These cities were never built, and they have only recently been modelled for the first time (Morrison, 2013). The virtual tours are discussed in the following research articles: Morrison, T., & Rubin, M. (2014). Using visualisation to test historical Utopian cities on a modern audience. In K. Ng, J. P. Bowen, & S. McDaid (Eds.), Electronic Visualisation and the Arts (EVA 2014, pp. 177-183). London, UK. http://dx.doi.org/10.14236/ewic/eva20... Rubin, M., & Morrison, T. (2014). Individual differences in individualism and collectivism predict ratings of virtual cities’ liveability and environmental quality.
