How to Repair Synology Volume + Simulating Hard Drive Failure | 4K TUTORIAL

When running a RAID/SHR (other than RAID0) you get at least one disk of fault tolerance. This means that if disk mechanically fails you still retain all of the data on that pool. In this video we are testing what happens to a RAID1 pool hosted on a Synology NAS when a disk fails, simulated by ripping the disk out in the middle of a transfer. Then we go through how to repair the storage pool by adding a new disk back into the pool.
