Pokemon Sacred Gold Part 3: Monks Getting High And The Birds Even More So

We're being busy bees in this episode. First we take on the Sprout Tower, get our next team member and then head to the Gym cuz why the hell not. The guy in the Pokemoncenter gives you one of the three Kanto starters. You can't get the rest until the late postgame, so choose wisely: Bulbasaur: Now with Chlorophyl, which is great with Sunny Day, Solar Beam and EQ. New speed with its original bulk and power? Awesome. Charmander: Solar Power can be good, but dangerous as well. You all know the awesomeness of Charizard. Squirtle: Rain Dish gives Squirtle even more durability. Squirtle's your average bulky Water type really, only it learns Zap Cannon now. Don't know if that's so great, but you gotta respect a turtle with two bazookas on its back. More new pokemon: Meditite: Huge Power is an awesome ability, it makes Meditite a very powerful. I personally prefer Gallade but Meditite is great too. Chatot: Actually a pretty good special based pokemon in this hack. It learns some great moves (Tri-Attack, Heat Wave, Ominous Wind). Nighttime: Ghastly: Oh my god Gengar is awesome! Special Shadow Ball makes it incredibly dangerous to basically anything, and by learning Aura Sphere (wow) it can take care of Normal types too. Glameow: Yep, sure is a Normal type. I really can't say anything about it, just that I like Meowth better. Stunky: Dark/Poison is a pretty good typing, giving it only one weakness. Skuntank's cry is great too. Inferior to Drapion, but interesting nonetheless. Spinda: Abigail is my second team member, and boy did she proove to be poweful right away. Hypnosis and Copycat will be very useful, or at least interesting. Falkner is a cool guy, and he got an upgrade in this hack. Like all Gym Leaders he now has six pokemon. Unfortunately I was kind of overleveled so he wasn't that challenging in the end. Doduo: It's a powerful Normal/Flying type, but I have no idea what moves it has. Maybe Double Hit or something. Farfetch'd: A Fighting/Flying type with Super Luck in this hack. Farfetch'd got the biggest change of all the pokemon, and it's very useful now. Super Luck + Stick + Slash/Leaf Blade/Psycho Cut/Night Slash = 50% Critical hits. Swablu: Right away you see what it does. Getting a Geodude is no longer an easy ticket to victory. Murkrow: Would use Night Shade, which does a lot of damage at this point, but I'm immune to it. Pidgeotto: Falkner's Ace, now with Aerial Ace to further empisize his Aceness. Roost can be very annoying since Pidgeotto is fast enough to outspeed most opponents. If you choose Jolteon, Falkner's no problem. Jolteon will outspeed all of them and kill them with Thundershock. Mareep and Shinx are good too. Falkner really isn't that hard, definetely not as tough as Brock in FRO. Have an Electric type, or anything bulky with a super effective move and you're basically set.
