Jharkhand’s Chatra district witnessed a tragic air ambulance crash on the night of February 23. The Ranchi-Delhi medical evacuation flight, operated by Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, went down near Kasaria Panchayat, killing all seven people on board. The Beechcraft C90 aircraft (VT-AJV) had taken off from Ranchi at 7:11 PM and reportedly lost contact with air traffic control at 7:34 PM. Among the deceased were the pilot, co-pilot, a critically injured patient, a doctor, a paramedic, and accompanying relatives. Authorities have launched an investigation, and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) team has been dispatched to determine the cause of the crash.
