Should save ~3s done well; also saves a bomb. Hookshot the chest saves ~1s and the recoil saves ~2s over just backwalking out. Make sure to hookshot the chest while still standing on the stairs so that the skulltula doesn't descend too early, making the recoil difficult/impossible. The timing for the recoil is somewhat tight, so it might help to time the text instead of mashing through it.
