The results had lessons for everyone, even though there was much cheer in the Congress-RJD-JD(U) camp and a feeling of having been brought up short in BJP with Congress camp having won 10 out of the 18 seats. In Bihar, where an alliance between JD(U), RJD and Congress won 6 out of 10 seats, which, if the Lok Sabha polls were any indication, should have gone to BJP.
