Martin Luther never intended to divide the church. He opened the Bible and discovered a gospel buried beneath rituals and human authority. As a monk, he wrestled with fear and a troubled conscience, yet those struggles drove him deeper into Scripture. Ther,e he found that salvation is a gift received by faith alone. He saw that Christ justifies sinners without indulgences or priestly control. Luther found no biblical basis for buying forgiveness and no evidence for the re-sacrifice of Christ in the Mass. He saw in Hebrews that Jesus offered Himself once for all. He realized that every believer has direct access to God through Christ, which shattered the system he once trusted. Though old traditions clung to him, he tested everything by Scripture and rejected anything that contradicted the word of God. He nailed ninety-five statements to a church door and called believers back to the authority of Scripture. He taught salvation by faith alone, through Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. He translated the Bible so ordinary people could read it for themselves. When Rome demanded that he deny his teaching, Luther refused. His conscience was held captive to the word of God. Martin Luther was imperfect, yet God used him to restore the gospel to the center of the church. #RomanCatholicism #CatholicChurch #CatholicFaith #Indulgences #MartinLuther #ChurchHistory #GospelTruth #Scripture #ProtestantReformation #Faith #ReformationHistory #BibleStudy #ChristianDoctrine
