Sky News host Catherine McGregor say Australia is not operating on a timeline which is the same as China's and "we need to get hulls in the water" urgently. Australia has scrapped its $90 billion dollar deal for French attack-class submarines in favour of a new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. This comes amid the forming of a new trilateral alliance between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. "We are not operating on a timeline that is the same as China's," Ms McGregor told Sky News host Paul Murray. "They're the unspoken adversary in this. "We are losing time."
