Day 25 – Armored for This | From Carnal Weapons to Spiritual Weapons | Week 4: AUTHORITY GRANTED | 30 Days of Prayer & Fasting Welcome to Day 25 of 30 Days of Prayer! We started today with joy and laughter, joking about how a British accent can make our prayers sound more “oily” and authoritative. That light-hearted moment set the tone for something deeper: a reminder that God delights in our laughter and that joy is a beautiful, essential gift for our souls. From there, the Holy Spirit led us into a powerful time of prayer and teaching. We thanked God for waking us up, for gathering us (even in the middle of winter storms and virtual services), and for the privilege of seeking His kingdom first. Then we stepped into the “fine print” of Christianity: spiritual warfare. We: Revisited Ephesians 6:10–18 and talked about the importance of putting on the full armor of God, not just “selective armor.” Broke down 2 Corinthians 10:4using both SOAP and verse mapping, looking at key words like weapons, warfare, carnal, mighty,and strongholds. Exposed “carnal weapons” we often run to (clapbacks, these hands, silent treatment, manipulation, emotional eating, substances, harsh words) and contrasted them with the spiritual weapons that are mighty in God and actually effective. Talked about strongholds as fortified arguments and thought patterns in our minds that oppose God’s Word, and how God calls us to intentionally pull them down. Emphasized that we don’t match energy; we establish Kingdom. We set the tone, stand firm, and pray not only for ourselves, but “for all the saints.” You’ll also learn simple, practical ways to: Use the SOAP method (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) to move from just hearing the Word to doingit. Use verse mapping to slow down, dig deeper into single words or phrases, and let the Holy Spirit open up Scripture in fresh ways. Partner with God through prayer and fasting, understanding that some things only shift, break, and get evicted through both.
