Backpacking Ontario Peak (Cucamonga Wilderness)

Backpacking Ontario Peak (Cucamonga Wilderness)

Ontario Peak is one of the classic climbs in Southern California. Its summit is almost at 9,000 feet high and form an imposing wall overlooking the west end of the Inland Empire. The group took an adventure, staying overnight at Kelly's camp. The place has no water source at this time of the year but very wide for a big group who wants to spend a great time up in high country. Kelly's camp got its name from John Kelly who began prospecting the area in 1905. But not until 1922 when Henry Delker turned the site into a backcountry resort.
