3 Eyed March (Improvised audio / video creation - Ableton Live - Zwobot)

This began after spending some time editing an old song (with hopes of improving it … ) then started to lose my inspiration so I changed direction, began improvising and created this. Guess I was more in create mode than edit mode this week. Played the first thing that came into my head, starting with drums and moving along with other instruments. Recorded some clips into Ableton Live using some instruments that were already in the project from the song I was editing. I find it helps to not have to think about what sounds / instruments to use, it can really slow you down and kill the motivation. I like to take a previous song, save it as new name, delete all the previous work, then start something new with those instruments already in place. The only downside to that is the two songs can end up sounding similar, instrumental at least. After generating a few clips, I started an arrangement recording, then went back and triggered the recorded clips and recorded and improvised arrangement, making a few slight edits as they played back. Added some Zwobot visual devices, then played back my recording and live adjusted those visual device parameters, exporting, recording results as I went. Instruments: Drums: EARTH kit created by ELPHNT. All synthesized drum sounds using Live's Operator synth, no samples. He put together some nice parameters on this rack. Use this a lot! String/Percussive sounds - Pipe and Tube delay percussion (A Live preset rack based on percussion sample, put through interesting resonation rack created by Behr, it creates really cool sounds. Synth: Live’s Wavetable on "Day the Earth Shrunk" preset B3 Organ by ELPHNT ... faux sidechained with Patch's Pump device A device called Guitari - nice little guitar sample in rack with Arp, Delay, chorus ... not sure who put this one together, maybe another ELPHNT. Zwobot visual devices used here: Main module, Deelay, Scan, V/Sine Also sharing this over on creativeweeks.org
