2015-2020 GMC Yukon Denali( total dash power loss) battery neg ground cable

Cable shorts out causing vehicle computer to cut vehicle off. I would be driving sometime or pulling into a parking lot. Once I raise the hood and bind the ground cable to the battery it would spark and the vehicle power would be restored and startup. Update no issues drove to Orlando Florida round trip 1800 miles no issues
