DAILY DEVOTION Tuesday, October 21, 2025 – Psalm 32:5 “I confessed my sin to You, and I did not hide my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and You forgave me the iniquity of my sin. Selah” “So I confessed my sins to You, and You forgave me my sins; I said, ‘My sins are revealed to You, Lord, and I am freed from your sins.’” CONFESSION BRINGS FREEING FORGIVENESS Dear friend, beloved of God! Hiding sins and wrongdoings is not surprising. Everyone will always try to cover up their sins, mistakes, and bad traits, so honestly confessing these sins is a rare thing. Whether we realize it or not, when we try to cover up sin, it has the potential to give birth to new sins, like one lie that is tried to be covered up with another lie, thus sin multiplies, leading us to anxiety and loss of peace. God's Word today, which tells the experience of David, is a very important example for us, which teaches us about the right attitude in facing sin. David did not hide or cover up his mistakes, because he was aware that his hidden sin would cause extraordinary inner suffering, as David explained in the previous verses "my bones grow weary" and complaining all day long. Therefore, the best solution to free ourselves from this inner suffering is to confess our sins. We are motivated not to feel ashamed to admit our sins and mistakes before God. The fundamental reason for honesty in this confession of sin is first because the Lord God always provides grace and forgiveness. Our God is a God of love and forgiveness. When we come to Him with a broken and repentant heart, He is willing to erase our mistakes. Second because God's forgiveness certainly brings restoration, relief, and true joy. This is already recorded in verses 1-2: "Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered!" 2 Blessed is the man whose iniquity the Lord does not impute to us. Therefore, may we all be honest with God about our sins and iniquities. May His forgiveness and the joy He will bestow upon everyone who honestly confesses their sins and transgressions strengthen us to resist shame and be ready to receive the Holy Spirit's prompting to repent. Don't let sin harden your heart or make you constantly justify yourself. Come to God today. Confess your sins and transgressions honestly and humbly. Trust in Christ's redemptive work; His forgiveness will bring joy and deliverance. Amen! Have a great day! God bless you.
